Professional Biography
Jack Schieffer is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Agricultural Economics at the University of Kentucky. His research covers topics in the economics, policy, and law of environmental issues. He is especially interested in the environmental impacts of agricultural production, and has published journal articles and book chapters investigating agro-environmental policy and precision agriculture, non-market valuation, and policies related to water pollution.
Dr. Schieffer serves on the faculty steering committee for the Natural Resources and Environmental Science undergraduate program, and is the Internship Coordinator (NRE 395/399) for that program.
Dr. Schieffer teaches Principles of Environmental Law (AEC 326) and Introduction to Resource and Environmental Economics (AEC 445G) at the undergraduate level. He also teaches a Ph.D. course in environmental economics (AEC 745).
